How to dispose of waste
Recycle like a real Trentino resident! Waste management methods vary depending on the location and type of accommodation you are staying in. Ask your host about the planned collection methods and help keep the area clean and sustainable.
For those staying in tourist accommodation/a holiday apartment and for second homes
- Place non-recyclable waste in the roadside bins using your PERSONAL CARD.
Ask your host to supply you with a CARD to manage your waste correctly. - Place organic waste in dedicated roadside bins with free access.
- Ask your host for information on waste for separate collection (paper and cardboard, light packaging, glass); the waste collection varies depending on the type of accommodation and the area where you are staying:

- in most municipalities, waste must be taken to the Collection Centres located throughout the Val di Sole territory and accessible by presenting the PERSONAL CARD. Ask your host to supply you with the CARD and follow the instructions of the operators at the Collection Centre on how to dispose of materials properly.
- some facilities/condominiums are equipped with communal containers. Ask your host where the containers you need to use for the disposal of your waste are.
- in tourist areas such as Peio, Marilleva 900 and 1400, Passo del Tonale, Folgarida and in some peripheral areas of Valle di Sole, waste can also be handed in at the free-access roadside ecological islands.

For those staying at other types of facilities such as hotels and campsites
Ask your host how to dispose of your waste correctly and use the containers at the facility where you are staying.
For tourists NOT staying in accommodation
(e.g. day trippers, campers, etc.)
In tourist areas such as Peio, Marilleva 900 and 1400, Passo del Tonale, Folgarida and in some peripheral areas of Valle di Sole, there are roadside ecological islands with free-access containers for waste from separate collection (paper and cardboard, light packaging, glass).
Specific information and possible steps to be taken in the area
- Whether you are on a trip to the mountains, by the lakeside or in the city, always carry a bag for your rubbish so you can take it home with you or back to the facility where you are staying and separate it properly.
- Never abandon waste, even if it’s small, such as tissues, bottle tops, cigarette butts or till receipts, in the environment, in the woods or on the streets and roads. Always look for the nearest container and help us to keep the area clean!
- Do not abandon organic waste (such as leftover food, peelings and fruit scraps), as this will attract animals.
- Is the bin full? If the bin or bottle bank is already full, take your waste to those nearest to you for proper disposal.
