Waste management in Trentino varies from town to town. This makes it essential to find out which procedures are in place where you are staying. How to dispose of waste
Recycle like a real Trentino resident! Waste management methods vary depending on the location and type of accommodation you are staying in. Ask your host about the planned collection methods and help keep the area clean and sustainable.
For those staying in tourist accommodation/a holiday apartment and for second homes…
- All recycle waste (paper and cardboard, light packaging, glass) must be taken to the 20 collection centres throughout the Val di Non area. Follow the instructions given to by the operators on how to dispose of your waste correctly.

https://www.comunitavaldinon.tn.it/orari - The disposal of non-recyclable and organic waste is handled differently depending on the type of accommodation you are staying in.
- Door-to-door or access with an electronic key to the underground waste bins (in Rumo, Passo della Mendola, Romeno, Coredo, Campodenno). Ask your host about the collection methods for the accommodation you are staying in.
For those staying at other types of facilities such as hotels and campsites:
ask your host how to dispose of your waste correctly and use the containers at the facility where you are staying.
Specific information and possible steps to be taken in the area
- Whether you’re on a trip to the mountains, by the lakeside or in the city, always carry a bag for your rubbish so you can take it home with you or back to the facility where you are staying and separate it properly.
- Never abandon waste, even if it is small, such as tissues, bottle tops, cigarette butts or till receipts, in the environment, outside the ecological islands or on the streets and roads. Look for the nearest recycling and waste bins and help us keep our region clean!
- Do not leave organic waste (such as food scraps, peelings and fruit leftovers) in the woods to avoid attracting animals.
